How to process the checking fixture of automobile?

The processing of automobile inspection tools needs to be advanced from multi-dimensional systems such as technical control, process management and quality verification to ensure its accuracy, stability and practicability to meet the inspection requirements of automobile parts. The following is a detailed description of the key points:

First, with "accuracy traceability" as the core, clear technical standards.

The core value of automobile checking fixture is to accurately reflect the size and shape error of parts, so it is necessary to define the accuracy standard from the source and run through the whole process:

Clear accuracy grade: according to the tolerance requirements of the parts to be detected, determine the accuracy grade of the fixture (usually the tolerance of the fixture is 1/3-1/5 of the tolerance of the parts). For example, for stamping parts with a tolerance of ±0.1mm, the tolerance of the fixture itself should be controlled within 0.03 mm..

Consistency of datum chain: the positioning datum and measuring datum of the fixture must be completely consistent with the design datum of the part (such as GD&T marking on the drawing) and the production process datum (such as fixture positioning point) to avoid the detection error caused by "datum drift". For example, the checking fixture of engine cylinder head should be based on its bottom surface and two process positioning holes, which are completely matched with the positioning during machining.

Digitization of key dimensions: the key dimensions in the 3D model of parts (such as hole position coordinates and contour tolerance zone) are transformed into the machining parameters of the fixture, and the digital transmission of design and machining is realized by CAD/CAM software (such as UG and Mastercam) to reduce the manual transformation error.

Second, select materials and processes to ensure physical properties.

The material and processing technology of the fixture directly determine its accuracy retention and durability, so it is necessary to select:

1. Material selection: balance accuracy and economy.

High-precision key parts: High-strength alloy (such as 40Cr quenched, hardness HRC50-55) or wear-resistant cast iron (HT300) are preferred for core parts such as positioning block and measuring datum plane to ensure long-term use without deformation and small wear.

Lightweight structural parts: 6061-T6 aluminum alloy can be used in non-critical parts such as base and bracket, and the surface hardness can be improved by anodic oxidation treatment, while the weight of the fixture can be reduced (convenient for manual operation).

Special scene adaptation: when testing plastic parts or parts with easy scratches on the surface, POM (polyoxymethylene) or brass can be used as the measuring contact surface to avoid damaging the workpiece; Stainless steel (such as 304) or chrome-plated antirust materials should be selected in humid environment.

2. Processing technology: focus on "high precision+stability"

High-precision machining equipment: key parts must be machined by high-precision machining center (positioning accuracy ≤0.005mm), coordinate grinder (roundness ≤0.001mm) or wire cut (tolerance ≤ ±0.002mm) to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface smoothness (Ra≤1.6μm).

Process route optimization:

After rough machining, carry out aging treatment (such as artificial aging of cast iron at 200℃×4h and T6 treatment of aluminum alloy) to eliminate internal stress and avoid subsequent deformation;

Finishing adopts the strategy of "multiple passes and small allowance" (for example, the last allowance is 0.05mm) to reduce the machining stress;

For complex contours (such as the profiling surface of the body panel inspection fixture), five-axis linkage machining is adopted to ensure the surface fit (clearance ≤0.02mm).

Environmental control: Processing and measurement should be carried out in a constant temperature workshop (20 2℃) to avoid the influence of temperature change on the accuracy of materials (for example, 1 meter long steel parts, a temperature change of 1℃ will produce an error of 0.012mm).

Third, strengthen assembly and debugging to achieve "functional closed loop"

The fixture is a multi-component assembly, and the assembly accuracy directly affects the overall performance, so it is necessary to strictly control:

Benchmark first assembly method: take the core datum plane of the fixture (such as the locating surface of the base) as the assembly benchmark, install the locating pin, supporting block and other components in turn, and verify the position accuracy with a dial indicator or three coordinates after each assembly step (such as the coaxiality of the locating pin ≤0.01mm).

Clearance and fastening control:

The clearance between the moving parts (such as quick clamp and slider) and the base should be ≤0.03mm to ensure smooth movement and no shaking;

The bolt connection shall be tightened with a torque wrench according to the specified torque (for example, M8 bolt torque is 25-30 nm), so as to avoid the deformation of parts caused by over tightening or the looseness caused by over loosening.

Full-function debugging:

Use standard samples (qualified ones calibrated by three coordinates) for trial assembly, and check whether the positioning is stable and whether the measuring points fit (the clearance shall be ≤ 0.02 mm when measured with a feeler gauge);

Calibrate measuring components (such as dial indicator and digital display sensor) to ensure that the reading error is ≤ 0.005 mm;

Simulate the actual inspection process, repeatedly load and unload the parts for more than 50 times, and verify the repeatability of the inspection fixture (the repeated inspection deviation of the same part is ≤0.01mm).

Fourth, strict quality verification to ensure "qualified delivery"

After the fixture is processed, it is necessary to prove its qualification through multi-dimensional testing:

Full-scale inspection: use CMM to scan all key dimensions of the inspection tool (coordinates of locating holes, flatness of datum plane, position of measuring block, etc.), and issue inspection reports to ensure that all dimensions are within the tolerance range.

GR&R analysis: Through the "Repeatability and Reproducibility" test, it is verified that the inspection consistency of different operators at different times is consistent, and the GR&R value is required to be ≤10% (acceptable), 10%-30% needs to be adjusted, and > 30% is judged as unqualified.

Limit piece testing: use the "maximum solid boundary piece" and "minimum solid boundary piece" (simulating the tolerance limit state of parts) to test the fixture, so as to ensure that qualified and unqualified parts can be accurately distinguished and avoid misjudgment.

Fifth, pay attention to detail design to improve practicality and life.

Ergonomic optimization: the height of the checking fixture is controlled at 700-1200mm (suitable for the operator to stand or sit), the loading and unloading space of parts is ≥50mm, and the positions of handles and buttons conform to the operating habits, so as to avoid frequent bending or exertion.

Protection and identification:

Wear-prone parts (such as the top of the locating pin) are equipped with cemented carbide bushings;

Key measuring points and datum planes are marked by laser marking (such as "datum A" and "measuring point 1") to avoid misuse;

Movable parts are provided with limit devices (such as stops and spring pins) to prevent excessive movement and damage.

Maintenance convenience: during the design, the calibration hole and disassembly space are reserved, which is convenient for replacing the worn parts (such as locating pins and dial indicators) in the later stage and prolonging the service life of the checking fixture.

summary

The core logic of processing automobile inspection tools is to realize the closed loop of "accuracy of inspection tools → reliability of inspection → stability of production" guided by the inspection requirements of parts, through accurate design transformation, high-quality material technology and strict assembly verification. Each link needs to give consideration to technical rigor and practical operability, so as to finally produce testing tools that meet the high standards of the automobile industry.
